On December 3rd, Shalrie re-signed with the New England Revolution. The new long-term deal will qualify Shalrie is a Designated Player, and keeps him with the club he has spent his entire 9-year MLS career.
The 2011 season was a disappointing year for the REVS as they failed to make the MLS Playoffs for the second consecutive season. The REVS will look to rebound in 2012 with new coach Jay Heaps, a former teammate of Shalrie.
Shalrie finished the season with a team-leading 8 goals and was named a starter in the 2011 MLS All-Star game. His 2011 All-Star selection marked his 8th overall selection, as the team once again took on English powerhouse Manchester United.
